I store my boat on a friends pasture they arent using
I built the boat shed next to a pre existing power polethere used to be a home where the shed is now
The electricity on that part of the property (which technically has a different address) has been turned off for 3 years

The city and electrician gave their quotes yesterday to turn the electricity back on

(1) City permit for inspection $230
(2) Inspection from 3rd party: Included
(3) TXU hook up fee
$25 - $100 (depends on wrk required, guess $50)
(4). An electrician to put in the weather resistant plugs, figure about $250.
Thats a total of about:$525

Me digging a trench and running industrial extension cords through some buried pvc piping was my fist thought also

Second thought. Solar cells to power inverter to boat batteries

1 shot suggested taking the batteries out of the boat at the end of every trip
This is easiest, but would destroy my back

I might just suck it up and take it from the city and pay what they quoted

If you just want to keep your batteries charged, get a solar battery maintainer. You could also get a solar light.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Solar for sure.

Ive already got two onboard chargers
I do like the solar option

Talked with my friends that own the propertygoing to suck it up and pay for it. Honestly, its the least I can do. They are way undercharging me for storing my boat there (free ninety nine per month)

I just rented a trencher and ran a line to the back of my property up the exterior wall and dropped down in to the panel. Stopped at the pool on the way. No need for PVC. Just get some of the grey underground cable. Not sure what kinds of amps you will be pulling but 10-2 should be good. This would cost less than having power company out.

Solar to charge the batteries. If you ever need to do work out there take a generator.
