I have a 19ft aluminum (real quiet) can with a 115 Yamaha SHO

What gas mpg would you guesstimate me getting?

Addendum - All down hill. No up hill driving.

I dont know. I have never checked my mpg. I just fill it up, then run full throttle until Im at 1/3 of a tank according to the lying gas gauge. Rinse and repeat.

I just checked, and the mpg of a fully loaded barge is .2 mpg, or double that of a ranger bass boat. You can work the math based on weight and displacement from there.

My guess would be 7-8 mpg. My Optimax pushing a 17.5 ft bass boat gets 6-7. Those 4 stroke are seriously fuel efficient. All this is a pure guess.

I don't recall what boat you have, but here is the Yamaha Performance Bulletin on a Center Console Xpress with the 115 SHO. Your mileage will be very similar

When it shows half a tank, dont go any further.

You might want to carry an extra gallon of gas with you to be safe. Or, buy a sail.

Salt Life is all about running to a half tank WOT and then cruising back home at 3000rpm drinking beer, dodging coasties and the g-dubs with yeti's full of fillets.

Thanks. I'll guess at around 4.5-5 mpg.

I could probably make it to Cuba.

Those performance bulletins aren't done loaded. 6 will be about as good as you will get. If you pour the coals to it, more like 3

Oh, and if you are going offshore in that boat anytime in the forecast range other than Thursday from noon to 5 you are probably going to die. Buy an epirb and make sure your life insurance is current.

Probably not over 4 mpg. And that is better than a two stroke.

Shut up.

1shot- dont listen to that advice. Its no good. Seas are supposed to be flat calm. Go about 65 miles out to one of the floater rigs. You will be ok.
