Beck has to be a better play caller for UT to have any success. Whether it�s Ehlinger, Beuchelle, Vince Young or Colt McCoy.

I am not much of a Tim Beck fan at this point, but part of me thinks the Swiss cheese OLine last year had a huge impact on his ability to come up with a good offensive game plan. We shall see.

Sam Houston OL for UT's if that was even a thing. I like Sam but Beuchelle will leave next year and go become a great college QB somewhere else. Then go to the pros and be great there. UT will wonder what happened when he leads another team to a 12 win season. He is a much better passer.

Beuchelle is the better passer, but the OL is still terrible; therefore, I think huggy-boy had to go with Sam -- in hopes that his legs and "thickness" will keep him from getting injured.

I like having two competent QBs to choose from on a given Saturday.

I think Sam is probably the right choice to start. Supposedly his passing has gotten a lot better. Fingers crossed. Sept 1 cant come soon enough!

well time will tell. He was a highly rated QB in HS and has played pretty well for a freshman while running for his life on every play. If he transferred today he would have a lot of places that would be glad to have him. The only reason he isn't starting is because Sam is a better fit. LSU?

He made a lot of costly mistakes last year that cost UT at least three games and yes he was a freshmen but there were a lot of good freshmen quarterbacks last year. They are going to go 7 and 6 or 8 and 5 at the best.

not having a below avg kicker cost them games. Hopefully that is fixed this year

If he was good enough to start at another top P5 school he�d be starting at UT.

soggybottom, Boo wasn't running for his life as a freshman but he was last year as a sophomore.

I went to several of those games his freshman year and yes they sucked. Couldn't block anyone. Didn't play much last year. He is good enough to start another school, he just doesn't fit Hermans system. I was surprised he stayed.

People never take into account what OL do for QBs. DAk looked great when we had gaping holes.

I hate to see another young player have concussions end his career.

BOO has an arm and has some legs too. He had several games his sr season at Lamar where he rushed for 200 and threw for 200. I know that is different than playing D1 football, but when he is healthy I think he is the better QB. Keep in mind he missed a lot of spring training due to recovery from surgery.

I can't believe they sent him back into the OU game last year.
Dude bounced his head on the turf HARD and was out cold on the sideline.
When they sent him back in later it looked like he didn't know where he was. I am sure he was saying he wanted to play on the sideline, but for his own health, i hope they take better care of him this year.

One of the tougher QBs I�ve seen at that size
I like his leadership skills. The kind of quarterback that inspires teammates to be better
Needs work on the passing game and learning to run out of bounds or slide every now and then
