Hope this fits. It's definitely carp related, but here is my recipe which has been great for catfish, at least one confirmed carp and two other bigguns which were never revealed. I'm confident that if you put this on the carp, you will have success:
1/2 cup corn meal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 TBsp Root Beer extract
Enough Cayenne to turn it orange
1/2 cup corn (frozen, canned, creamed) *if you use creamed corn, you will likely need more flour
1 egg
1 TBsp fish oil (optional)
I use an electric beater to mix until you have a well-mixed crumbly mess. It looks too dry, but when you press it together, you should get a nice dough ball. Kneed it for a while until your hands are clean, add some flour if it seems too wet. You're looking for something similar to a pizza dough consistency. Roll it into a snake. Pinch off pieces of the snake and roll into boilie sized balls or invest in a boilie baller. I pinch and roll.
****Here is an important detail. The batch size above works well for this cooking time in the microwave.****
If you want pop-ups, microwave for 1 minute. As noted above, if you make a larger batch, divide it or find the time that works for your batch size.
If you want sinkers, bring some water to a boil and dump em in. Remove when they float to the top.
Obviously experiment with different flavors and add some color if you think the majestic carp care. I have experimented with adding sugar, but it seems to compromise the integrity of the boilie and they seem to be easy prey for the intelligent carp who will pick it right off your line. So you may want to avoid adding jello or pudding. It'll still catch the dumb old catfish.
Pictured below are pop-ups. I didn't add the corn and forgot the fish oil. 2 batches. If you make them typical boilie-sized you should get about 24 per batch. I'm lazy.
Good carping All!
