It’s a shame he died . Dad just felt he needed to whoop some arse and stuff just went south.

A man is dead and his crime was rattling the door of a toilet stall in a busy gas station, and a man with two young children sits in jail. The world has gone crazy.

Pretty much.

What's to say the kids didn't overreact or misinterpret what happened. Not to mention guy sounds homeless and most if not all exhibit some type of mental illness or heavily self medicating. Unless there is more that comes out in the dads favor I think they get a conviction on this one.

Nope. before I read the article I thought the father caught the dude trying to break in and beat him right there. But he waited until the dude came out of store. Not much hope for him now

If it were a big public restroom with a bunch of stalls and he had walked into the women's restroom and then rattled a stall door I might feel slightly more sympathetic to the dad. As it stands from what I can see in the article he stomped a dude to death for rattling an external bathroom door. Dude could have had a stage 5 emergency or maybe the doors were poorly labeled. Maybe he was a perv and was trying to get in there. Fact of the matter is the father had no clue which it was and reacted way over the top.

Agreed. But I’m not throwing stones. I think that I too would go into a blind rage if my daughter came out of a public restroom and told me the same thing.

I believe the story says stall door not external door and violently shaking the door not rattling. Change a word or two and you can kinda make things sound different.

Let me also add that I believe it sends a positive message out that if you try to get on the stall with some guys kid that guy might beat you to death. That has a warm and fuzzy feeling about it.

Hoodlums stop at QT, that's why I stop at Racetrack. That is unless Dave2 is driving in which case we always end up at a QT.

I guess Dave2 is a hoodlum. hmmm

Police could have been contacted in this situation since it had already taken place and "Heat of the moment" or "Caught red-handed" was out of the question. He deserves what he gets, but I can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing and I approve.

Should have gotten the perv's picture, have daughter take it to prosecutor.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

But what if the dad went and punched the perv, and the perv fell awkwardly and broke his neck on the counter or something? Not suggesting that's what happened, but just for the sake of argument. I would argue that a punch or two to the jaw WOULD be justified. So if the guy falls and dies as a result of that punch, what then?

You can argue whatever you want but what happened is a man followed the perp off property and accosted him. I think it happened because the dad was not happy about the security guard not calling the police and just escorted the man off the premises.

By taking it into his own hands and beating the man to death there was no investigation, no answer back from the perp and all he had was his daughters version of what happened. That is why you call the police instead of killing the man. IMO.
