Is anyone running this unit? Looking at new units and this one fits in the price range and was wondering if anyone had any hands on experience with it? Thanks

Im not familiar with the unit but Id save my pennies and and look for a used Helix 10 on the forum. Humminbird is probably the most widely used electronics around here with lowrance behind them. Most all of my catfishing buddies run a helix 10 or 12. A few still run lowrance but none run Garmin. Now that I have stood up for humminbird Im sure there will get a few Garmin users who will say its the greatest unit in the world. Garmin might be a great unit but Id go with a unit that is more widely used around here so that when you need help(and you will) there are tons of guys that are familiar with the helix. Lot of guys upgrade to the MEGA and sell their old unit on the forum. the 1st gen helix is still a good unit. If you plan on scanning a lot the 10 display will reduce eye stain quit a bit over a 9. Might not be what you were wanting to hear but you will thank me later.

I hear ya 100% I've been running a helix 5si since it first came out. I've been keeping a eye out as well for some gen 1s

I have one, 93SV and love it, Sonar, Down View, and Side View are better than the two HB Helix 7;s I have The 93 is the simplest to use ever and needs no adjusting for perfect pictures..
the maps that come installed on the 93 are C- grade compared to the HB's with Lakemaster chips !!
The 93 chip you can buy is also C- grade...
