Hello I haven't been on fork for a long period of time. Taking vacation in a couple of weeks for 2-3 days of fishing. What i am wondering about is leaving my truck and trailer parked somewhere. Are there better/safer places than others? Private launch sites etc.... After having my truck broken into a few weeks ago I am not as trusting as i used to be. Thank you for any input or insight.

Shouldn't have any problems at Oakridge. Truck can be seen from the restaurant

I like Mustang Park or Popes either one is good.

+1. Im a big fan of Oakridge. Good layout and amenities. Decent ramp, easy beaching, tackle
shop, restaurant, shaded parking if youre lucky, good people.

Another vote for Oak Ridge and they have the bet Chicken Fried anywhere. Mustang Resort is good also but no restaurant or tackle shop.

Lake Fork Marina, Oak Ridge, Minnow Bucket, Popes, all are safe. Ive been using all of them for years, depending on the area of lake Im fishing and never had issues at all.

All excellent safe choices. Personally I've never had problems at any of the public 154 and 515 ramps either in well over 30 years but still would not vouch for them either.

All of the bigger marinas mentioned above are fine. My buddy had his truck stolen at 515 back in the spring so I would stay clear of public ramps. My favorite place on the lake is Oakridge as it has everything you need...

I will choose one of the others depending on where i want to fish for the day.

Congrats on you and your daughter for choosing the best school in the country. thumb
Everyone including several of the guides say the best action is from 3-7pm and of course the night anglers have been doing well. Big 10-12" worms c-rigged and drop shoting points in 20-30 FOW have also done well. Good luck and enjoy your time on the water. If you like catfish A.J.'s is pretty good but can get crowded around 6pm.

Had my truck broken into on the 154 bridge public launch so wouldnt go there either.
The other private launches are good and secure, worth $3 to launch.
