The point when people starting using the term foodie, or when people starting boiling meat in bags? Both is a viable option.

Its kinda one of those chicken and the egg deals. Foodies were the first to start boiling meat in bags, but were they called foodies prior to starting the boiled meat thing?

Why did the foodie cross the road?

To boil his meat in a bag!

Thats an excellent question. I always thought it was when the meat boilers used their fins to drag themselves out of the ocean and onto the land. But, youre right. Its a really close timeline when these hipster freakazoids started calling themselves foodies.
