When are some good times of year to go up the creeks and rivers that feed local DFW lakes and flip and pitch and catch fish? I’m sure there are resident fish that live there year round but when is “prime time” to do this?

You kind of have to find out yourself, not to be sarcastic but some lakes have good fishing “up the river” and some lakes are mud holes.. go out and do some exploring on your home lake. you might find a good population of fish that you’ll have to yourself

Thanking the lord for another day on the water

Never realized there was a bad time to fish that way.

With several lakes being low it's more about actually getting in the river (if you're in a bass boat) than catching fish. All creeks and rivers hold a good population of resident fish but the bite can be effected by too much or too little current. I fish the river on Hubbard in November and December and hit the power plant lakes in January and February. Once again, water in any river scenario is the key.
