Lake Lewisville has been pretty amazing lately. This is the time of year when I switch over to crappie from sand bass and hybrids. We have been catching crappie all over the lake anywhere from 14-25FOW. Jigs are working, but not producing the numbers of fish that we are seeing come from minnows. What has surprised me the most is the ratio of dinks to keepers. Lately, it seems like 85% of the fish we are catching are keepers. I looked back at last years fishing spreadsheets and we were only at about a 30% keeper ratio. This tells me the lake is healthy and is a good sign for the future. There are a lot of fish on standing timber and brush piles. If you dont get bit in a couple of minutes move on.. Good luck to all and be safe. The water levels are down and there are some nasty submerged stumps just below the surface around hackberry headed to Cottonwood as well as the timber field in front of the white house..

Here are a couple of photos from Saturday of this last weekend.

It was good sitting there and BS'ing with you while those guys in the bottom pic were yanking in the crappie. You sure had them 'On Them'. thumb

And yes, I cringe everytime I see a boat tear through the forest around Hackberry. If they only knew.

Thanks Ron. Good to see you guys.

Slew. Ill talk to Jacky. Deer season is almost here so I am usually preoccupied in late October. Sounds like fun though. I know there is a CFF tournament on Lew in November??? I plan to hit that one and flex some muscles. Lol
