Reminiscing about the good ole days and radio station KOMA AM came up. It was a powerful am station that we received in the south plains of Texas. I would listening to it on a pocket transistor radio with ear plug after lights out that was strictly enforced. Wondering how far it reached into Texas? Any of you older folks remember?

"The first amendment was not written to protect people and their laws from religious values, it was written to protect those values from government tyranny."

It was a so-called "Clear Channel" and could be heard all over the country depending on the atmosphere.

When I was a kid 12-13 years old (1996) I would stay up late and listen to some show. It was a woman dr and people would call in about different topics, but mostly it was weird sex stuff. As a young teen it was very eye opening. I think it was a syndicated but not sure where from.

I grew up listing to KOMA. They used to advertise they broadcast to 38 states and 5 countries or something like that. That was a long time ago.

Thanks, Billy

"KOMA Kissin Time" in the late evenings. Always a good listen when you were at the submarine races.

I had one of those pocket radios. I listened to the Colt 45's and Astros games at night.

I think it was XERL. If I remember right, the station was actually over the border in Viacuna. If my memory serves me correctly, the station was too powerful to broadcast in the US, and that was the reason for Mexico.
