We've got quite a bit of rain in Southeast Tarrant county over the past 3 days and as I fish ponds in housing additions and small parks it's a welcome thing.
The ponds had gotten low and the water hot. In addition the low water had caused the ones with fountains to be shut off which further lowered the oxygen content. All that had caused the fish to really shut down.
I went out this morning and checked a few out. They're all full, most of the fountains are operating and there's some flooded vegetation so I will be hitting them shortly.
Hope everyone else got plenty of rain too.

Getting some much needed rain in East Texas today. My ponds have been two to three feet low and like you said the fish activity level really drops in that situation.
The rain is magic for the ponds.

Looks like we still have a few more days of rain in store. I can't wait to get out and toss a few flys around. I just had new line put on my 4wt and tied but a few Llano bugs. Even with all this rain I need to get out and find a few new places to fish. I think my favorite place has just about had it.

3 plus inches here in the last two days. Yesterday, 2 1/2 inches came down in about 45 minutes. Blew my okra plants over, flooded the depressions in the yard, and knocked down a lot of tree limbs.
Todays rain was more of the sedate, drippy kind.
Water in the lake here at my house has been off color some prior to the rain with an algae bloom. Its really off with the rain the last two days. When it clears up again, Ill start seeing some bass around, thats been the pattern.

Its looking like we will get the raid we need in North Texas. The ponds I fished Saturday were at least 2 feet low. Of course, it was fun watching my 13 year old get stuck in the mud while trying to catch a frog. Just saying.
