Hello, follower's David here @ shut-up-and-fish. Long day today. I attempted to get some video from on the water today for the Tuesday Tip of the Week. It was simply too windy out there and the sound quality was very poor so I will simply type Tuesday's Tip of the week. By the way, it is so terribly busy around here that we have decided to take Tuesday's Tip of the Week and do only a Tip of the Month. If there are some tips you would like us to focus on please share them here and we will do our best to get it covered. Let's get into today's tip.
I will have some images below for the review of this topic.
Humminbird Mega Imaging. 3x's the viewing. 455kHz, 800kHz, and 1.25 MHz. I always have my Humminbird Graph on 455kHz when searching for fish and structure. People ask me, so why have a Mega unit. Well, Mega imaging is a fantastic tool when you apply it in the correct application. 455kHz has broader shoulders "if you will" over 800kHz and 1.25MHz. 800kHz will show broader over 1.25 MHz. The images below will show you what I am explaining. So there you have it, followers. Your Tuesday Tip of the Week (moving to a monthly tip) Tweaking the sensitivity and contrast when switching from 455kHz, 800kHz, and 1.25 MHz will bring out the details in what you have found.
Notice how it gets darker in 800kHz and even darker in 1.25MHz looking out to the furthest point yet the detail on the bottom is greater than 455kHz. I only keep the image on 455kHz when searching and then I tweak and dial it in once I have found something.
It is all coming together here @ shut-up-and-fish from Sales to Rigging, and On the Water Education, we have you covered.
Tight Lines until next time.

David, you probably should start a new post for each tip of the week/month and include the new date in the title, that way the each post should not get over a couple of pages with comments. Keeping the same post going could get pages long. Just a thought, thanks for the new tip, Later..

Having structure in the screen has always helped me dial my unit in....
Pausing the screen will help with that also...
Not sure if everyone noticed you evidently done so with the courser showing on your unit...
Good tips on the khz use and difference....
