I've never changed the rubber strap rollers on a trailer.
My bow roller and strap roller are cracked a bit and need replacing.
I see alot of the "clear" ones out there. Are they better than the regular black rubber?
What say you?

I like them better because they don't leave black marks on the boat. They also seem to be a bit more durable.

I like the soft black ones myself. I had the clear/amber one and occasionally I would hit it too hard, due to having the trailer a little too deep, and I feared either chipping the glass or knocking the eye hook loose. Matter of getting the trailer the right depth so you just snug up to the roller but fishing different lakes and the lake levels changing hard to judge the proper depth. I'm usually fishing by myself and if I don't get the trailer deep enough I then have to get back in the truck and back it in a little farther. With the softer roller if I bump it a little harder no problem. Just a thought.
