They are not protected in Oklahoma. However you must have a valid hunting license to kill them. The season runs from Mar 1 through June 30 with no daily bag limit. I doubt the OK fish and game folks are going to come after the guy for killing a nuisance, venomous snake, in season or not.

He was curled up under my tractor, and that's just about all that was left of him. He still has venom after 36 hours. I didn't check his identification or thumb through the hunting regs before I ran over him 26 times

lol, suicide by tractor would be a good defense. In Tx they are protected unless causing harm, one curled up by my front gate waiting to ambush me....well, I considered it harmful due to the possible outcome of several people opening that gate, and the huge spike in blood pressure and heart rate it caused me.

I saw one a couple years ago while a was dove hunting in Morris, OK. Didn't know what it was at the time so I took a couple pictures and my biology teacher told me it was a pygmy rattler. I googled it and he was right. Haven't seen one since but I know they're out there

On Lone Star Law they said the only way you can kill them is if you were in real danger. Same law probably applies in Oklahoma.

I hate them. Had a timber rattler strike and grab my blue jeans while I was fishing a pond in Uncertain Tx. I've never ran so fast in my life.
