Lol that's 2 on 2 trips. These breaks are on the hooksets. He just got the new one last night. This was his first fish with the new rod. I'm a huge all star fan, but this is ridiculous.

+1... you don�t reel a fish all the way to the tip eye and pull them in.

you don't grab the middle of the blank and flip them in either.

All Star Rods are just cheap Chinese carp anyway. Academy licensed the name several years ago. They are not the same rods us old guys use.
Might as well buy the cheaper Academy brand rod, it is basically the exact same rod with a different finish.

Really? That sucks I've got some older all star rods that are my favorite rods.

Watching the video I am amazed you have any rods that are NOT broken. The way you are boating your fish, you are putting all the stress on one point of the rod, and a point designed to be rigid and not bend.

That said, you can't see how your buddy's rod broke in the video. A broken rod on the first fish is an anomaly no matter how you are handling it.

The first fish you landed damaged the rod. It was only a matter of time before it broke. It's not the rod, it's the abuse.

Well, I feel dumber for having wasted 4 minutes of my life watching that. I guess I don�t understand the �video 15oz fish� crazy that�s happening these days and then calling it a movie.

Hey chuchu1 Watch the dang video. This is not me that had the rod break. it was my buddy and this was the first fish he caught with that purple all star rod lol.

All my rods are in pretty good shape and have been around a while. I don't know what you guys do with your rods but I use the carp out of mine and they are still doing just fine.
As far as my buddies this was his 2nd purple all star in 2 days! I don't know if they might have been damaged when they were shipped to the store or what but I won't be buying any.
