He's a lunatic to the highest level. I think he deserves to be in the HoF strictly on numbers. Didn't watch his speech. Don't care enough about the ceremonies to have watched it. Him snubbing the Hall though was kind of a slap in the face to all the fans that spoke up for him, and the HoF voters.

I dislike TO and think he has serious, self-destructive issues. His point isnt a bad one, though. His numbers are nearly identical to Moss. He was a loud mouthed self-promoter, a bad teammate and an annoying character, but he never broke the law or had any major off-field issues (unlike, say, Ray Lewis).
Moss had some issues, but wasnt as annoying as TO and never got into any major legal troubles (unlike Ray Lewis).
Why did TO have to wait to get in? Just for being a jerk? Randy Moss was a jerk, has nearly identical stats and got in on his first ballot. I think TO should have also gotten in on his try.
I also believe he should have shown up to Canton, but the rumors of the HOF making attendance mandatory proves that the HOF and voters are sanctimonious about the whole thing. It should be a museum, not the arbiter of morality or what the writers think is OK (because they clearly can be hypocritical). It should be a celebration if the games greats.

They do need to take the HOF voting away from writers. Too much petty BS and posturing from them. The HOF ain't just for those the reporters liked orr were nice guys. Its for the best players of all time.

T.O. had a warrant issued for his arrest in 2011 for failure to pay child support. He settled that one out of court. Remember his overdose in 2006? Yeah, T.O. wasn't an all American kid by any means. But he is the 3rd best receiver in NFL history and should have gone into the hall on that merit alone.

No one said he wasn't a HOF, but he was a cancer unlike any other player I can think of? so he had to wait 2 yrs? so he throws a baby tantrum JUST like he did his entire worthless career. Ask McNabb what he thinks of TO? His numbers I compare to Carmelo, worthless stats that never got him or his team anywhere. All he ever wanted was money and stats and that's what he got, AND THAT is why he isn't a first ballot.

But he is the 3rd best receiver in NFL history and should have gone into the hall on that merit alone. Forgot about those two; good points. His mental issues, particularly when that has been a hot button issue for players in general recently, shouldnt be a barrier to getting in on the first ballot. The child support is bad, no arguing that. But its not obstruction in a murder trial, or some of the violent or drug related NFL player arrests we see too frequently.

I wish the NFL and HOF would have not given him one ounce of publicity for his induction. If he wanted publicity, he could have showed up and been greatful just like the others being inducted and those who were inducted before him. This BS was a distraction for the grateful guys who were honored to be there.
