Nights and midweek help a lot. Willows and big oak limbs, seems like hardwoods last longest. Once they get a couple of years old all the algae gets on the willows and it's hard to get bait through without getting bait slimed up. Hard wood criss crossed on bottom work for worming, cranking you want all the limbs facing same direction. Deep water stand them up. Now days they will get found within a few weeks to a month if it's on a point of any kind. When I started I used triangulation, then hand held GPS came out, now everyone has GPS depth combos with great map chips. Make them easy to find them so sometimes you have to throw out a few decoys to keep away from the good ones.

Sounds like a bunch of nonesense to mislead people into not fishing brush piles to me. You better be fishing in or near some sort of cover most of the time if you want to catch big fish;)

You're right about the willows, we've had our best luck with cedar trees sunk upright in a 5 gallon bucket of concrete but the crappie seem to lov'em more than bass but then the bass love crappie so it's ok. On Fork between 2-3 am is about the only time you can sink brush without someone watching. Nosey bunch all around the lake. roflmao
