I have kept both the tail spinner and jigging spoon in the boat for the past 25+ years. Some of the numerically largest catches I've had on Rayburn have been via the jigging spoon and tail
spinner. My favorite time for this technique is during an arctic blast with extreme high pressure, bluebird days, water temps low 50s to upper 40s. Fish (and shad) will ball up in certain spots and it can be a whack fest. The real beauty is that on these days you pretty much own the lake.
