They aren't going to be good this year. If Elliot can't play for whatever reason they will be pretty bad. I figure they are between 9-7 and 6-10.

I'm still on the fence about Dak. He wasn't the main problem last season. It's hard to be a good quarterback when the defense is constantly in the backfield before the receivers are five yards down field. Poor personnel decisions not the find decent replacements for Free and Leary, plus a worthless back up for Smith. Coach Clappy failing to make adjustments and protect the quarterback were the main reasons the offense sucked. I'll reserve my judgement on Prescott until I actually see them play in a game situation. With real protection. Unfortunately Coach Clappy is still around, So I expect much of the same anyway.

Not sounding unfamiliar unfortunately.... I hope he finds a way to win ugly.
ClutchPoints - from The Athletic:
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott continues to struggle during training camp
When the Dallas Cowboys decided to move on from Tony Romo and named Dak Prescott the permanent quarterback, they knew it was a risk, but they had high hopes for his play and development. After an excellent rookie season, Prescott had a sophomore slump that made for some cause concern.
As the quarterback, Prescott is the focal point of the offense which means all eyes have been on him during training camp and according to reports from The Athletic he has been a big disappointment.
Were only seven practices into training camp and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott continues to struggle. Thursdays practice featured another day of inconsistent play from Prescott. He displays a strong arm, smarts and the ability to move well in the pocket. Hes just not making the necessary plays.
Prescott has unofficially thrown three interceptions and just one touchdown in the team periods. His touch on some throws is way off and he continues to dump passes down to running back Zeke Elliott and any tight end within five-to-seven yards near him. Prescott has completed a few deep passes, like a pretty throw he made to Tavon Austin, but there are times you wonder why he doesnt make the simple play.
With such a young receiving corps and new faces in the wide receivers room, this is important for training camp for Prescott and the Cowboys.
The Cowboys need Prescott to step up, make the right decisions and have a big year if the Cowboys want to compete in the NFC East. That all starts with better plays in training camp and it better happen soon, or there is going to be some real panic setting in for Americas Team.
Sturm I like Dak but I never had a ton of confidence in his passing game, I was always in Romo's corner when it cam down to starting Dak. The only way the boys are going where they want to go is playing like the Seahawks did, bad arse running game, mobile quarterback that can make a play with his feet, and a bad arse defense that gets a lot of turn overs, and some great coaching.

Been saying since I first watched him play for the Cowboys, everything good except touch passes. Hope he improves that.
