His buddy looked like he knew how to land the fish decent enough to where maybe he didn't reel all the way up then try to flip him in, but like most people are stating you cannot tell people not to buy the rod when you don't even show how it broke. Sorry bud but as soon as I saw how you land fish I just couldn't help defend you.

I own one All-Star rod...a saltwater Shrimptail Special I won on a trip to Hackberry, LA. It is a great light action rod for 1/4 oz lures, and I have also used it for dropshotting. Matched with an early gen. Shimano Scorpion w/ ceramic spool bearings. Sweet!

Got my wife a purple All Star Spinning rod and she loves it. But she knows how to land a fish.

No rod is designed to boat flip fish. Contingent on how much line have out amount of pressure on rod in places. Where hands positioned on rod and weight of fish can contribute to busting any rod

I own two 7 ft All Star (Inshore) rods and one of those is the purple one and I use them for salt and freshwater fishing. I've caught many bass on them. Back in June while wading E Galveston Bay, I landed a 31 ft bull red w/the purple rod. Yes, All Star is not the same as the older models but I like their price when Academy has them on sale.
