Im a qualified electrician on A4s and C130s. I know the instruments and the controls. Im licensed to turn and burn the A4, and I could maybe get it flying and autopilot to my destination, but Id have to get over the airport and punch out. No way I could land it. No way Id try it in the C130. I've never landed in a C130....but I've taken off in a few.

Let's see: Texarkana airport, on an American Eagle twin engine jet. Therefore, it was an Embraer 135/140/145 aircraft.
I bet he never even turned on the main battery switch, let alone the APU.
But, on the bright side, he'll have a great reputation in prison:

Landing is pretty easy.
Pull the thrust lever to idle....it’ll come down.
Surviving the landing...that’s a bit trickier. There was an AF flight instructor quote that was passed around several years ago. "The Air Force is batting 1000 with new pilot training. Every one we have sent up has come back down to the ground."

When I was working for Arlington we had a kid steal a Cessna after dark. He did OK on the takeoff. PD units were kinda following it to see what would happen. Kid did OK until he came to a sudden stop in mid-air as he connected to the high metal tower type electric lines. From there not so good. RIP
