I've been searching the net and reading up on the various live well additives that are available. Catch and Release, G Juice, and Fish Life are the three that stand out to me. Do you have a favorite? Last week I installed the V2 live well vents and was wondering, do I need to use an additive? Have you ever used Hydrogen Peroxide?

It seems to me that the more I use that stuff, the more dead fish I have (just my experience). I put them in the livewell and leave them alone until it time to cull or weigh them in. If one gets hooked in the tongue I will pour Sprite on them, that does seem to help with bleeding. IMO

I used Catch and Release for years and never had any issues. Picked up some of the G Juice this year and it has worked well too. I add some frozen water bottles as needed and have poured mountain dew on any fish that are bleeding. Haven't tried peroxide yet.

You'll get a ton of opinions on here about which brand is best... I'm a Surelife Labs guy, Please Release Me for wounded fish and Catch N Release for a regular livewell additive. Surelife products were good enough for the Bass Professor Doug Hannon and by the only person I know with a bachelors in Chemistry, I'll take that advise over a paid endorsement from a Pro Angler any day of the week! Again, thats me... the simple fact that you care enough to want to do more to take care of your fish is a win win for everyone no matter what product you decide on. Careful with Peroxide, you need to know exactly how much to use. An over dose will do major damage to the fish's gills.

I made Surelife's product myself. It's the reel deal. I've traveled all over the country publicly speaking on fish care and I will honestly say they are in it for the passion of conservation, not the money... No other product out there has the ingredients that Surelife's products have. Miss traveling with Doug Hannon, RIP.

Looked at Academy today for C and R and they didn't have it. Going to call Surelife tomorrow and get distributor info from them. Thanks to everyone for your responses.
