Looks like I'll be going down to the Galveston area around the 3rd weekend of September. Will be fishing the surf. I'll probably set my big pole out for sharks but wondering what I should target with my smaller gear? By smaller gear I mean my baitcasters that I use for catfish with 50lbs braid.

I've never fished down there before so any info would be helpful. Or if you can link to some good reading to familiarize myself with the patterns, that would be great too!

Thanks

When the surf goes flat, it's time to go after trout. They'll inhale topwaters and paddle tail plastics. And the average size is impressive.
