It will be investigated and a cause for the collapse determined by 5:00PM...at least on here.... Butch will have it figured out before 1400. Did they use frac mud to build it? Yes and He provided security during construction. yeah i am doing $2million in roofing at Luna & 635 i hope you are having as good of a year we are using the crane that the parking garage people have out there i will find out the story for sure

Two guarantees with concrete. One, it will get hard. Two, it will crack. Actually that area of DFW has the worst soil for movement I've ever seen. Most builders avoid that area. Yep, terrible movement in that area

I wonder if the Rembrandt that was in the trunk of one of the demolished cars will be covered? Yes the Rembrandt would be covered if it was in the vehicle of the owner, and that Rembrandt was a scheduled fine art piece with a current appraisal on file, through the owners home owners policy, if the Rembrandt was being transported professionally, the transporters policy would be primary on this loss

I've always wondered about that. 635, 114, etc are like rollercoasters thru Irving/Los Colinas. In the low lying areas, historic old river beds, nasty soil

the parking garage i am looking at it would take a MAJOR f-up to colllapse like missing some welds missing bolts i guess if they mixed the concrete wrong, but they check core samples everyday

My exhaustive research on this incident leads me to believe that something went wrong. I do not think this garage was supposed to collapse. I would also recommend more rebar and a different location on the rebuild.

Should have used post-tensioned concrete. On grade and elevated.
Best weather on the planet!

Thats weird. I just finished up building a 6 story garage at the San Antonio airport that was entirely poured on site.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

I would be surprised if it wasn't due to ground movement. Real dry hot summer like we are having will make foundations move all over the place.
I hate photobucket.
