Yep, terrible movement in that area

Yes the Rembrandt would be covered if it was in the vehicle of the owner, and that Rembrandt was a scheduled fine art piece with a current appraisal on file, through the owners home owners policy, if the Rembrandt was being transported professionally, the transporters policy would be primary on this loss

I've always wondered about that. 635, 114, etc are like rollercoasters thru Irving/Los Colinas.

In the low lying areas, historic old river beds, nasty soil

the parking garage i am looking at
it would take a MAJOR f-up to colllapse
like missing some welds
missing bolts
i guess if they mixed the concrete wrong, but they check core samples everyday

My exhaustive research on this incident leads me to believe that something went wrong. I do not think this garage was supposed to collapse. I would also recommend more rebar and a different location on the rebuild.

Should have used post-tensioned concrete. On grade and elevated.

Best weather on the planet!

rhythimic vibrations are a real threat
Kansas City bridge collapse for 1

Parking garages are precast concrete
& brought to the site & installed
on the numerous i have been around
no concrete is poured on site
they weld & bolt them together

Thats weird. I just finished up building a 6 story garage at the San Antonio airport that was entirely poured on site.

This is 100% incorrect.

I would be surprised if it wasn't due to ground movement. Real dry hot summer like we are having will make foundations move all over the place.
