What would it be?
I am going to Lewisville to try and get on them this weekend, any tips would be appreciated! I will be launching from the little elm beach.

If I'm fishing from a boat, the slab. If I have no boat in this scenario, the roadrunner.

The question is not fair. At different times of the year, there are different best lures. In the summer the top water lure is the best and in the other seasons the slab is the best. I prefer the Baby Torpedo for top water and a 5/8 oz chartreuse slab for deep water fishing.

Tailspinners either chartreuse or white work for me most of the year except when deadsticking, then it is slabs.

I think I catch more on a PopR than anything. Pop R would be my choice in a top water lure but I often chunk a slab or Little George in to surfacing fish.

Used Little Georges years ago on Livingston. Do the still make them? Yes they do and it is the preferred choice of us on Rayburn! We prefer the 3/4 oz model so it will sink faster past the the smaller fish and the treble hoos don't hang up like the 1/2 oz ones.

It depends on how/where you are fishing for them. If it's deep, I'll go with a Mepps or slab. Chasing surface schools/white birds, a flat edge spoon works as good as anything I've tried. With or without a bucktail. In the shallows and creeks, I prefer a out of production lure that's gotten extremely hard to come by.

Little George has caught more sandies for me than any other lure. It's heavy, very easy to cast a mile, and has a built in spinner. It's a 'two-fer'. You can bounce it like a slab when u need to and buzz the top when they are pushing shad.
