I plan on repowering soon. I currently have an older mercury black max 175 but plan on looking for a used efi or Optimax (probably early 2000s). Will I need to change my controls or are the old ones compatible? Thanks for any help

Bought a center console with the plan to repower to something newer/more fuel efficient. Dont know much about the motor. It runs & has good compression but thats about the most I could honestly tell you.
