One of the most frequent questions I get asked this time of year is.
Do the Crappie still bite when it is 100+ degrees? Yes.
Are we going to limit out every time? No, but sometimes we do, but sometimes we don’t. you can still catch a nice mess of fish.
My best Lake right now is Tawakoni. We have been starting early and getting off the water by noon to beat the heat. If you can get a little wind the heat is not that bad.
Trip #1 Ronnie, Bill and Jack on Lake Fork. I have a lot of respect for these three guys. These are some great guys to be around. Always uplifting with positive attitudes. And not afraid to share what God has done for them. We had some good church in the boat. Each one of us got to preach and tell how good God is to us. Ended the day with 30+ fish not the numbers I like but we left there with more than a cooler full of crappie. We all left the lake, up lifted and knowing and thankfull for all the things God as done for us.
Trip#2 was Harold and his wife Claudia newlyweds on Palestine. They were vacationing from out of state and wanted to get on some Crappie. And that we did. They got to feel the thump and the rod bend. Ended the day with 27 Crappie. They kept enough for two fish fries and a cleaned and donated the rest.
Trip#3 was Travis and Todd on Lake Fork. These two are no strangers to fishing. By the 3rd spot these two had some big slabs in the boat. We ended the day with 32 Crappie.
Today was Brett and his mom Debbie and her sister Patty on Lake Tawakoni. You talk about an awesome son to take his mom and aunt out fishing. Well done sir!!! Man we had some fun today a lot of laughs and we beat the heat and ended the day with 50 Crappie.
This week was Bonehead stump bugs in white lighting and black neon. And don’t forget some type of scent this time of year guys. It can make the difference between getting a bite or not.
I have an opening this Wednesday if anyone interested in slinging some slabs !
If you wanting to get on the action give me a call!!!
Thank you all for fishing with me!!
God Bless!
Mark
