I have a 2010 Silverado right now and I have had my eyes on getting a Tundra truck. How do you like your Tundra? pros and cons. Do they pull boat good? Is the bigger V8 better or the smaller one better? Obviously the bigger one would be better for towing, But I also use truck for work and travel quite a bit also. What kinda mileage do you get? Im looking at like 2015 and up. Thanks for the help.

Others will have more time than me. I had a first generation for several years. Liked it a lot. Then I went to an F150. About a month ago, I picked up a 2016 Tundra with the 5.7. I like it. Tows well. Mileage is not good, but I mostly tow with it. It�s a second vehicle for me, as I have a company car.

5.7 is the way to go. Definitely get upgrade pkg for 38 gallon tank. I tow a 5000 lb 22' Champ Bay. I pass with ease on 2 lanes. Towing MPGs 9-10 depending on speed and wind direction. Drive 30 miles hwy to work @ 70-80. Pulled in lot tho morning 5 legs so 150 miles. 17.7 MPGs. Computer is accurate within a couple of tenths. Idling and stop and go will kill it. I have Bilstien 6112s on front @ +2" and BFG KO2s so a little lift and fairly heavy tires. 4x4 too. Tons of room in CM. Don't need the cab space but bought it for roll down rear window. The whole window goes down unlike others. After owning Fords and problems I had Tundra was no brainer. 3rd Toyota truck. 90k on other 2 and not a problem. Just got daughter a Rav4 so now we are an all Toyota family. Some have had problems with TSS on 18s. Good time to buy with new models coming out. I bought in August last year. Little over 15% off MSRP. Toyotas do not have markups that others do so 15% is a good number.

I've got a 2015 Tundra crewmax with the 4.6. It pulls my zx225 pretty well, but you know its back there. Average about 16-17 mpg without the boat, 10-11 mpg towing.

Still have my 2004 double cab Tundra, small V8, 187,000 miles with no problems. 18 mpg not towing, 13-14 towing 18'bass boat. Handles boat and also my 20' gooseneck flatbed fine, won't win any races towing but cruises at 70 with either and rarely put it in tow mode.

They drink the gas, both the big and small V8. Either will easily pull a bass boat. I doubt you'll notice a difference pulling between them.

If you get the small V8 without the tow package and the smaller gears, you might be able to get ok gas mileage. Otherwise, don't expect to go far between fillups.

Disclaimer - I do not own a Tundra, but my dad has owned a 2013 for 3-4 years now.

I have a 2018 Tundra crew Cab 1794. It has the same work horse engine for several years. I like the breaking power. Once you get a boat rolling, you need to be able to stop. I tow a 22� Sea Fox with a TTop. It workks great. And my 1794 is the all leather interior. And they sure don�t your eye�s when you look at them.

My Tundra does better than my brother's 5.0 Ford. Tundras really suck the gas when idling. I think it is the 8 cylinders versus 6 or 4 depending on make. I have watched my MPGs drop by a full 1 waiting to exit off 635 to 30.

I have a 2011 Tundra Texas Edition, bought new August 2010 it has the smaller 4.6 V8, it pulls my boat fine and has more power than I need. Still on the original tires, belts, hoses and battery, only thing I've done is change the oil and filters. On trips I have gotten as good as 19 mpg with the air on. Gas mileage doesn't seem much different than the F150 I had before. Next truck will be another Tundra.

I've got a 2014 tundra crewmax with the 4.6. Average about 16.5mpg, but can get 18-19mpg on the highway. It gets about 11mpg pulling my zx225 and pulls it pretty good.
