so, my normal fishing buddies are out of town or busy this weekend but i am getting out regardless. I live in north Fort Worth and normally go somewhere relatively close to paddle and fish. Thinking about trying a new spot this weekend to be adventurous. Any suggestions on good half day/full day spots to paddle and fish, hopefully somewhere with lots of fish lol, possibly with some shade and moving water not too terribly far (preferably north texas) ? I normally wake up at 4am and hit the road. But would like to be home Saturday Evening, probably still too hot to think about camping just yet,
Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

trophy club/Denton creek? - you launch in trophy club park and paddle as far back into the creek as you can.

Texoma, I've only fished it a couple of times but it was awesome. Launch on Oklahoma side, at marina below, paddle over to the west bank and fish south.. largemouth, smallmouth, and stripers.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Go West and fish the Brazos below PK or Texoma below the dam.

Cool picture, that sounds awesome, im guessing i would need to get a single day fishing permit, or a special license to fish Texoma? Sounds like a great time, i like options.

Texas bank - resident fishing license or lake texoma license
On the water - oklahoma fishing license or texoma license
Oklahoma bank - ok resident fishing license or texoma

Lawfully, all water belongs to the state of oklahoma. One can purchase an annual lake texoma fishing license for like 12.50 i think.

Successful morning on the lake/river, 6 am to around 330 pm, caught a ton of fish, few of my favorites. Saw lots of wildlife and had a great time.
