I know this is a long shot but I wanted to see if anyone knows of a bass guide on Lake Minnetonka, Mn. I gotta go to a wedding in October and wanted to see if I could sneak in a half/full day trip.

I would set the bass rod down and hire josh Borovsky for some Muskie fishing.

Thats a tough call for a 1 day trip, you might only see one or two musky and boat none. On the other hand you have a great chance to catch a boat load of 3-4+ pound smallies.

Seeing 1 or 2 muskies equals catching 25 4 pound smallmouth. October, youre likely to be able ron get one on with a sucker. Id skip Tonka and head to mille lacs for brown bass...

When in October? Keep in mind, October, its going to be cold. But I might be able to take you. Minnetonka is always fun.
As for the Muskie comment, you catch muskies fishing for bass anyways so you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak.

00ranger00, I am wanting to fish Friday October 19th. I have never caught a brown bass in my life which is what I am most interested in. I don't want to spend all day hoping for one bite on a Muskie. PM me, I am interested in hooking up with you.

If you want trophy bronzebacks, skip Tonka and fish the Mississippi below Elk River. It's amazing. Minnetonka is good for a number of different species. The Miss. is simply outstanding for smallmouth, and those river fish fight HARD.

Like mentioned above. If you're looking to get into smallies go up to Mille Lacs. October can be the best month of the year for smallies on Mille Lacs. They are schooled up like crazy in the fall and you can get on a school of all 4 and 5lbers. It's less then 2 hours from Minneapolis. Check out Jim DeRosa, Jeremiah Johnson, Mark Schutz, and Dragon Slayor Smallmouth Guide service. You won't be disappointed if you go to Mille Lacs. Minnetonka can be great in october too but you are going to be targeting largemouth. There are smallies in there but you're not going to get into a big school of them.

O.k, I got a little ambitious, threw a hail mary last night and sent a message to Seth Feider on Facebook. I woke up this morning to a big surprise. The response I got was "Not many small mouth in Minnetonka, go to Mille Lacs, hit Dragon Slayers on FB." Booked a trip with them and I am super stoked! With the Elite series tournament on Chesapeake bay this week I was really shocked he responded. What a good dude!

BTW, its good to see anglers from MN on the TFF. I would have never thought that.
