Don't overload your batteries. I never gave this much thought until Sat. at 9:15 AM when I tried to start my outboard and the battery was dead. Fairly new battery just overloaded. Four graphs running, 360 running, and I had left my lights on. (My fault) I will install a second battery in parallel for my outboard and that should fix the load problem as long as I remember to turn my lights off.

heat wave probably didn't help either. Might be a good idea to keep some small jumper wires so you could use the trolling motor batteries to start. My starter battery is getting old so this issue may be in my future.

I have good jumper cables in my boat so that wasn't a problem.

So, was it the heat that made you forget to turn the lights off or was it just you're getting ............ never mind.

It never fails...your starting battery dies at the worst possible moment. In rough water, attaching jumper cables can be a chore, especially if alone. This little tool works like a charm. Well worth the money. With a push of the button and a turn of the key, you're off and running again. http://tournamentsaverpro.com/It's a Texas product too!

And check the water. I ran mine almost dry awhile back. Luckily none were damaged. My Ranger has a built in Jump switch. Almost as great as the Ultrex!

Works better than the built in one on the Rangers.
