Texas' only natural lake! Texas has hundreds of lakes, but all of the rest of them are man made, by damming up a river. But this one is all natural! This park is a little on the creepy side, it's dark and filled with croaking frogs, screaming birds, and snapping turtles! I'm sure there are gators in there. There are cypress trees everywhere, making it hard to get in the water with all the little cypress knee knots in the shallow waters. There's nature trails and hiking trails. We came here to go canoeing and fishing. There's lots of wide open places to paddle through, with plenty of places to rent a boat. We caught a few fish, but nothing impressive- all catfish. I've heard this is a good place to go catfish noodling. There's plenty of places to pick up bait and beer, so it's a convenient park. It's too bad half the lake is in Louisiana.

Been fishing it since I was a young child and still can get turned around if I'm not paying attention. It's been stocked with Florida Bass and has some dandy ones it it. One of the most beautiful lakes I have ever been on.
