I picked up a 7'6" MH duckett cranking a few weeks ago. Pretty good rod for $100. No complaints.

I throw 10xd, DD 22 on an 8ft hookspit blackwater series rod. No problems with it. I was worried about it being a little stiff when hooked up, but have not lost a fish yet.

Quantum Tour KVD-PT (TKVD7117MB) 7'11" -- Heavy -- Moderate -- 12-30 lb -- 1/2 oz - 2 oz -- $159 MSRP
based on lure weight, you should be able to throw a very wide range of Strike King crankbaits.

Series 5 (10+)
Series 6 (12+)
5XD (15+)
6XD (19+)
8XD (20+)
10XD (25+)

Graphite/Glass Composite blank is the most sensitive, yet strong backbone I've ever thrown. Besides, good enough for KVD, definitely good enough for me.

I was recently doing the exact same thing in looking for a deep cranker. I picked up a Falcon Lowrider LFC-6-179 XD Cranker. Been very happy with it.
