My experience has been that a lot of big fish will bite during the hottest part of the hottest day.

Don't know, but definitely not on a day like today.

Ambient 110 degrees with a heat index of 115 and water temp 93 degrees.

Fishing KOC (Kings of Cowntown) Bass Tournament Ambient 105-110 degrees .Fished from sunup till 7PM.
Hope it cools down a little before Aug 12-13 for another KOC tournament.

Fished Falcon all day 2 summers ago and it hit 103, but the wind was howling. Rayburn last weekend got to 97 and it felt hotter. Wind was almost still. Amazing how many empty water, Gatorade, and Diet coke bottles were in the boat at the end of the day. It's miserable until you get bit......

Ex and I were fishing a tournament a few years ago in 102 degree heat with no wind.
For 4 hours we caught a fish on almost every cast. None of them were under 5 pounds. We won the tournament with big bass and a total weight of 31.10. The best day of fishing I've ever had.

Fishing on days like today makes little or no sense to me. I got nothing to prove. I can wait.

Summer of 1980 fished Lake Waurika (new lake and full of 2-4lb fish) and as we drove through town the temp was 116. Put the boat in and tried to cruse around to cool off. Felt like driving into a forced air furnace.

A friend and I fished Lewisville at 111, one day a LONG time ago. Glad I am not that stupid anymore, at least I HOPE I am not. Caught a lot of fish that day, too. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

107-108 at Fork. Lake slick and the fish biting. Hard on me the older I get.

106 in July on O.H. Ivie. It was still more enjoyable than Pheasant hunting in Gruver when it's -5 and 25 mph wind.

We had a good breeze today, Fork wasn't really bad at all today. No traffic to speak of today or yesterday haha

110 with humidity making it feel like 115 yesterday

I don�t remember what year but it was mid 90�s. We were at Fork and high for day was 112.

I quit fishing by 11 am during the summer months! During my younger years it did not matter when I quit fishing. The hottest day I ever fished was 105 degrees and that was years ago!

Fayette county about 3 or 4 years ago. Truck said 103. Water temp at discharge was 108 so air temp felt like an oven. Caught fish for 2 hours non stop every cast. Caught well over 100 that day with maybe 20 under 3lbs. Most were between 4-6. Big was an 8.

I will say I've fished falcon in August but I dont recall air temps. That was back in 08-09 and we were catching enough fish to not notice nor care.

110 on Falcon, thought we would cool off a little going down the lake. Nope, more like turning the hair dryer from low to high.

Can't remember the exact temp but almost had a heat stroke fishing Monticello with the plant running full blast one scorching hot summer day with no wind. Couldn't catch a breath of air that didn't burn my lungs.

Back in 1980 I fished Lake Jacksboro with my buddy and when we drove thru town that afternoon

the temp sign said 118.

We fished from about 5pm to about midnight. Never forget seeing the temp sign.

We had over 20 days in a row of 105 plus temps that year. The lake nearly went dry even with aggressive water rationing, and they had to move the water suction feeding the town. That year was the pre cursor to building Lost Creek Res behind Lake Jacksboro. It took another eight years to get the family that owned the land to give it up to build the lake, and two years to build it.

I guess the hottest I have fished would be 109 best I can recall.

I fished with my boys at Texoma two summers ago from noon til 6 pm. Air temp was 108 and the heat index was 119. I took a screenshot of it with my phone and texted it to all my buddies to show how crazy I was.

I might add that some of the biggest fish I ever caught at Fork was from Noon til 6 pm in July & Aug. Got one of my PBs at the time, 11.61 at Fork in Little Mustang at 12:30 pm on a jig in Aug right by the bridge when the hydrilla came out to the edge of the creek.

109 yesterday on Lewisville may have been the 2nd hottest day. Felt like a heater running across the lake. The hottest I have ever fished was 114 degrees on Lake Limestone about 20 years ago. That thing sits in a bowl and there was no wind. It was brutal. Think I almost went into shock when I cranked up the ac in the truck.

I'm not certain if it's a badge of honor or stupidity. Probably stupidity. At least I've learned to hydrate with electrolytes before, during and after.

Yesterday.....launched at Fork at 4 pm....my phone said 105�...but it cooled off quickly after sun down and we had a good breeze.
Caught a bunch of slots...all night.

U. S. Open at mead always in the summer, still catch them pretty good on top water and spider jigs 👍

yesterday, Fayette, 106F or something like that. I could have fallen into the outlet water and be at the same temperature. Fishing was tough too!

Amon Carter in August, I think it was around 2012 or so, it was well over 100 and there was not a breath of air, it was terrible, and I blanked.

109 today off the lake by 10:00.

Easter 2011 on Falcon...103. It was worth it, my son and I had a best 5 of 39.9# and best 10 of 76.6. He broke his PB twice that day with a 9.8 and an 11.0. That being said, I don't think I could handle that kind of heat nowadays!

I can't remember how hot, but I have fished some really days tournament fishing South Texas. Falcon, Choke Canyon and Lake Corpus Christi get hot in the summer. I remember one with a cove full of dead fish and a game warden in waist deep water yelling at everybody to get in the water and help get the dead fish. Can't remember which lake.

Seems like I fished one on Amistad that was smokin hot too.

108 at Fork in July. Fished from noon 'til 6. Still my best day ever on Fork. I think we caught 58 fish. 23 of them over 7 lbs. I had 45# in 30 mins. My buddy had a 10 and 11.5 during my 45#. This was at the pumphouse, when there was no pumphouse and most folks didn't know how to fish it, properly. Like Ken A., many of my best days on Fork for numbers and size have been the blistering heat of the day with no wind, June through early August.

That's funny, I caught an 11.65 off that same spot in the late 80's, but I was night fishing. Blk/blue Larew Hog Craw with glass rattles in it.

I was stationed at Luke AFB in Phoenix, AZ for 5 years. I did quite a bit of fishing in the 120's out there at Lake Pleasant. I would leave work at 1600 and drive straight there. I usually wore my swim trunks so I could cool off every once in a while.

I think it was a Thursday, but it may have been a Friday.

Anyone do any good today, it hit 114� in Waco today but I saw it as high as 116�, fish do seem to group up during extreme temps

Fished last Thursday here in cape cod, it was 78 degrees.

Sunday on Lake of the Pines. It was toasty.

Been able to fish every day since week before last. Suprising how many fish are still in shallow water. Yeah, it's 108-112 outside, but water temp in the mornings was still in the low 80s in some spots early last week. Of course there are deeper schools also, and the thermocline is well defined. Fishing has been pretty good in my opinion.

Fished a Media Indi about 13 years ago. I had 5 20 oz. dasanis and I finished the last one on my way to weigh in. Thats 120 ounces of water and I was thirsty going home. It was 106 and no wind. I was boat #141. I got fourth though. Its funny you dont notice how hot it is when your catching fish!

I've been in 110-120 multiple times on the lake. I have lived in some horribly hot environments (Arizona and Nevada).

112! Don't even remember what the heat index was, doesn't really matter at that point. Hot is HOT!!

All you guys keep bringing up Arizona and Nevada. They do not count! That's "DRY HEAT"!

That aint much water, Friday on Tenkiller in Oklahoma me and my partner ran out of waters at noon, and we had probably packed 14.

This last Saturday was pretty hot!

Fished a few years back with Fouzman on Fork. It was pretty hot those 2 days as well! I remember you, me, and Pack just looking at each other and sweat was just rolling off our faces. lol.

Could have been the same fish. I released her an hour after Scott Wishart weighed her at Lunker Lodge. It was Aug '85.

I remember one day on Purtis. It was about 110 by 3:30.
I was up near the creek channel and island.
I was catching some good fish but the lake got slick and the temp got tough.
My head started to spin a little bit.
So I peeled off the cap, shirt and shoes and took the plunge.

Swam around for a while and laid out on a PFD. When I got back in the boat a south breeze started to blow. Felt like AC.

I fished the rest of the day and enjoyed it.
