I am contemplating trading my Chronarch and Curado E series reels for the K series. I have one K and it seems like a pretty good reel for the money. Those of you with experience with the K's please weigh in on if this is wise. Is this a trade up or am I better off sticking with the E's?

I am not getting rid of my E's but I have bought a couple new K's! I am sure in the near future a couple or three more will show up in the rod box and my E's will take their rightful place in my collection display.

The K is good but you're talking about trading the most bombproof, Japanese made reels ever built, for a new Shimano...... No sir.

Have both. The K is good, but like dk daid above, the E's are among the best reels ever made. Stop searching for greener pastures. Great is great.
