Hello - I am looking at a 2010 boat with a 2010 SHO that had the Power Head replaced in 2015 by Yamaha, apparently under the replacement program. 180 hours before the swap, and 80 hours since. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
When initially looking at the boat, I took this as a good thing --- I had been looking for a SHO and had understood this to be a good program, and essentially getting a "new" factory power head. I put down a deposit...After diving in hard yesterday trying to gather info, of course I come across all of the post with those saying the problem wasn't fixed and Yamaha isn't going to help with a 2nd replacement, etc...along with estimated cost in the 13k ballpark for a factory replacement head. I understand that these may be the unfortunate few who had problems, which is what usually shows up on the internet. Of course, there are also those that say is has been really reliable after the replacement. This being said, before taking the leap, I was looking for advice/opinions:
1) What seems to be the general consensus --- Most are fine after the swap OR most seem to run into more problems? Basically I don't want to jump into this if it is likely there is going to be an issue...I do understand that they all have a chance. It seems like many of the re-occurring problems came after "early" replacements...did the "later" replacements in 2015 seem to have the kinks worked out?
2) What am I looking at if it does go expense-wise? I noticed most post were older and seemed to say you had to replace it with a factory, not a rebuild, but I have also seen re manufactured blocks in the $4k range...is a manufacture now an option OR is it still not advisable?
3) Long and short, would you feel comfortable with it? I am trying to make a decision today/tomorrow based on and inspection of the boat and appreciate any input, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys! I know there are no absolutes, and I am trying to get a feel for what I am stepping into...this helps to ease the anxiety.
