Fished today from 9am to 130pm, and until about 1130 it wasn't that bad, but the wind died, and the lake went flat as mirror, and it got HOT. We managed enough for a good fish fry for a friend that had done a little favor for us...we used minnows on brush piles below 20 feet, right on the bottom, and not moving.

The bite really tends to slow down once the wind quits. And it does get hot when that happens! Headed over there in the morning hope we can find a few.

the toughest days for me are with no wind, I once heard the best crappie fisherman in the world(in my opinion of course)say "if it ain't blowing we ain't going"

Moved around a lot the other day. Caught 16 keepers off one pile and had about the same for throw backs in 22ft in a few hours. Darn lucky to catch what we did. Graphed fish loaded up multiple trees but not many takers. Almost wished I had minnows just to see what would've happened. Green/pearl and electric chicken on white and pink jig heads on a two jigger seemed to do the trick for me. We'll see what tomorrow brings!

I'm struggling, but managing to catch 10 to 15 fish a morning right now. Seeing lots of fish, but just a few bites at each location. Changing location and colors has been the best pattern for me right now.

I agree with both James and Jerry. For whatever reason, calm days are tough and the fish just don't bite as good. It does make it easier to fish but it also makes the bite tough. This has also been my experience.
