Have not seen a Canyon Report in a long time. Seen some on the other sections of the forum for other species of fish. Hope to see some "Sunnie" post this summer and fall.

I have not fished Canyon this year. Times that I have fished Canyon by boat We usually hit the coves by Cranes Mill and also fish the outside areas of the marinas. When I fish the bank I usually fish Turkey Point and the Rebecca Creek area up river. During the summer months the sunnies move to deeper water. 12 to 20 feet. Lot's of area on that lake. It can be a difficult lake to fish. thumb

Side Note: It's been a while since I have seen a sunfish report from Canyon. hmmm

I have not fished for bigger fish but I catch my small bait fish in Comal Park. There are are plenty
of small ones.

Just fished it today... went to a couple brush piles in 15ft of water looking for crappie but they were covered in blue gill. Small bait fish size. But fun to catch.

The lake has been really hit and miss lately. I fish it almost every Friday and mainly go up the river. I have been all over the place with the bite. Lots of small fish. I am going to start fishing later for cats now that the hell heat is starting to come on. It sucks when you are sweating by 9-10am.

My bro in law and I are gonna shove the ole bass buggy in next Saturday...we mainly just need some time on the water. Taking minners and worms and plan on going tree to tree around Rebecca Creek. Any depth/area we should target? Looking for bluegill and or crappie. fish

14 to 16 feet of water! Also look for brush piles in that depth! thumb

Well, it was a beautiful morning on the water. We caught a redear, a greenie, a crappie, a largemouth, and about 10 bluegills. Good time but man it gets hot quick! fish
