I had Don Harper map out Buchanan for me. Besides the 20 maps, and detailed instructions on how and why to fish these areas, I've learned so much talking to Don. Today, I went out to explore these areas thinking if I can just get a lay of the land after today, I'd be happy. I did a few hours of fishing too, and ended up catching my personal best 8.5 pounder, and another 5 pounder.

I couldn't have imagined Don putting on areas that just has big bass hanging around. I'm only 3 areas of the 20 Don mapped, so I've got a lot of exploring to do. But wanted to send a personal thank you to Don for his excellent work and teachings. I was so pumped up after catching this today, I put the video together too. Thanks again, Don!

One 10-pounder is better than ten 1-pounders; but 100 1-pounders is ok too!

Jake,
Thanks. Yes Mr Harper is quite knowledgeable and so willing to teach you what you need to know to be successful on your own. He does top notch work!

Very cool! Don mapped a lake for me a couple years ago and I can attest to the thoroughness with which he picks a lake apart based on a good topo map. Time and money well spent!

Tim, your the man! Thanks for sharing. I can give you the best spots; but you are the one that has to keep going back to figure those fish out. I am as happy as you are to see you were able to be so successful on the first time there. Good fishing bud. Keep changing it up, making notes on all the conditions of the weather, your lures used and lake levels. Record those somewhere so you can keep a log. It will pay off in years to come.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

I do not know, have never met Mr. Harper, nor taken advantage of the services he provides (yet). However, I felt today was the time to thank him for being an A+ human being. I believe there is a post every week from someone thanking Mr. Harper for his mapping service, quality baits, or other knowledge on fishing. His services are just one branch of the things he is doing for the fishing community. His private lake venture will no doubt also be rewarding for many folks. He also offers jobs to others when there are things to do around his place where I know without a doubt he is impacting someone's life in a number of ways. This guy is helping fisherman become better at their "hobby", leading to more enjoyable time on the water. The recipients of his knowledge will then pass that to others (children, friends, strangers, etc) leading more folks away from the screen and back into the outdoors. This guy found his purpose in life and has/will touch many people for generations to come. Mr. Harper you are single handedly improving humanity and I applaud you for that. I travel often back home to the Panhandle from East Texas passing right by your area. One of these days I hope to request the opportunity to buy you lunch, thank you for all that you do, and maybe even gain a little knowledge. thumb
