I had joe Tom and Jeremy on board today. They caught their first topwater stripers at dawn. After that slowed we switched to trolling umbrella rigs. We marked tons of fish scattered around the south end of the lake. It took a while but they got their limits with big fish at 11 lbs. At one point when they had hooked up 4 fish on 2 rods we took a little time to land them and untangle the rigs. I noticed the fish had grouped up under the boat because I had left my Thumper running. We dropped one umbrella straight down and hooked up again within seconds. The guys were very happy with the trip since we went over sonar settings and what to look for when targeting stripers as well as catching all their largest fish ever.

No sir. I dont have downriggers. I just add up to 6 oz. of weight to get the rigs down where I want them.
