Prefishing for SOT on Fork, I caught a 10.14 on a c-rig then an 8.22 on a 10XD, both were overs, show up the next weekend for the SOT and we weighed in an under that took 7th on an hour and I caught a 23.5".

Biggest so far 19 inch 4 lbs 2 oz smallie out of Canyon off the bank. Read somewhere where an 18" smallie is considered trophy size down south, so I guess I caught a trophy smallmouth.

It's northern bass guys. Totally different from a southern fish. VERY old dense fish from all that cold up there. That fish is probably 20 years old and it's bones age like tree rings. That all stacks up over time for added weight. Easy 8.

I'm stuck up north for a few more months. Been a tough year bass wise, 5lbs is probably my heaviest YTD. (Mind you the season has only been open for 2 months). I did catch a donkey musky last weekend. My selfie game is not good.
