Seven Seas. Eight Models.
New Mojo Yak gives saltwater kayak anglers a custom tool with legendary St. Croix quality

Manueverig through the mangroves. Skillful pedal-trolling just outside the breaking surf. Pitching tight to barnacled and razorish jetties and pilings. Precision hovering and vertical jigging over shallow wrecks and reefs. These are the arts and sciences of saltwater kayak fishing

To match this level of sophictication, and dedication, St. Croix considered the operating environment in and around the kayak, as well as the top fish species pursued by saltwater kayakers. The resulting rod series goes by the moniker, Mojo Yak.

To best describe Mojo Yak is to begin with its kayak-specific characteristics, each included to improve fishability or thwart the common challenges of operating in such tight, sometimes unforgiving quarters. Unforgiving? Yes. Other than the comfort of your seat, every other square inch of a kayak is as hard as a rock. And somewhere out there is a graveyard of busted guides and rings. To that cause, Mojo Yak features Kigan Master Hand 3D guides with slim, strong aluminum-oxide rings and black frames. Durability and castability are served

The rods handle was crafted with equal scrutiny. To build the best handle for the job, St. Croix collaborated with Winn, utilizing the companys superior polymer grip technology. Super tacky, shock absorbent and comfortable, the patented material provides a sure-grip even when wet or cold. And operating at waters edge, a kayakers hands are seldom bone dry.

Mojo Yaks shorter split-grip effortlessly manages fishing inside the kayaks cockpit. Youll notice, too, that the butt end is rounded, letting the rod slide across the chest, catching less fabric.

Its like waving a magic wand, said Benton Parrott, three-time IFA Kayak Tour champion, speaking to Mojo Yaks special fishability in the kayak. Ive never had a rod move so airlessly, or grip as well, wet or dry. And when youre paddling, its a constant switch from paddle to rod, and that tackiness makes the transition much smoother no fumbling around.

Let us not forget the intelligently crafted blanks, either. Mojo Yaks Integrated Poly Curve engineered mandrel is mated with premium, high-modulus SCIII graphite, giving it the guts to serve double duty for anglers who need a rod capable of fishing multiple patterns perfectly. St. Croix designers gave great consideration to overall rod balance when engineering the blanks giving kayak anglers improved performance by reducing tip weight.

Starting at just $150, the new Mojo Yak is available in six spinning and two casting models, ranging from 7 to 76 in medium-light, medium and medium-heavy powers. The fast action rods deliver casting distance without sacrificing accuracy, and proffer generous backbone to hoist fish up from water level and the sensitivity to understand exactly where your lure lies beneath.

Each Mojo Yak rod includes a 5-year warranty backed by St. Croix Superstar Service. The full lineup is expected to hit store shelves on September 2018. Learn more at: stcroixrods.com
