Looks like you are eccentric loading your iliopsoas doing that for hours on end
Go see a doctor
You will likely get an X-ray, prescription for some PT, maybe an anti inflammatory Rx and maybe a hip injection if no improvement
Along with appropriate diet/exercise recommendations

From the location you showed my first thought was hernia.
Hernias can cause intermittent pain for years before you realize it needs to be addressed.

Have you been checked for AIDS? Can you catch that twice? I passed 2 out of my last 3 AIDS tests, so I dont think you can.

I had similar pain in the Left leg and it was from sciatica from the L5 being cracked when I was a kid and didn't know it. It was shifted slightly and age finally caught up to it. The L5 was putting pressure on the sciatic nerve between the L5 and S1. I had surgery to correct it two months ago. 5/7/2018. Even after the TLIF surgery fusing the L5 and S1, I still have some of the sciatica pain after I have walked for a while or if I climb some stairs. A shooting pain that is alleviated by doing a sciatic glide exercise. Since you are pretty young yet, other causes may be the answer. Do you wear your wallet in your back pocket LH side which could cause an imbalance? If so that may be the problem. If not, then maybe you do have some L5-S1 or L4-L5 issue.

Agree with Bob; part of your history does suggest a lower lumbar disc issue (aggravated by prolonged sitting and the overall chronicity of the condition)
It's hip vs spine vs lower inguinal/lower abdominal vs other--your PCP should have you pointed in the right direction after a history and physical exam.

Zack, are the nodes in that hip area swollen? Google FAI, femoroacetubular infringement. Thats what it sounds like to me.
