TXMulti, it looked like a slot black bass 2 - 3 pounder. I was graphing the point changed directions and watched it land there and go to work on brunch.

Cool pix. I watched a bald eagle one day at Fork hold onto a bass about 2# until it stopped flopping. Then he flew off with it.

Something interesting I learned up in Alaska about bald eagles. Their talons, once clamped onto a fish, cant release it until theyre back on the solid ground. A great learning lesson for young bald eagles because they could drown if they grab to large a salmon or trout in the water and cant take off again.

I asked because on my first close up eagle sighting with my wife, we both just froze and stared. When it flew away we looked at each other and realized neither of us took pics.
