I am having a new 2,248 sq ft one story house built in Temple. I have been trying to work with a company to run the Ethernet wiring and after waiting 3 weeks I finally got their estimate. There were some things missing from the estimate and I tried contacting the company and over 24 hours later there has not been any response. Based on this I think it is time to move to another contractor that actually wants my business but I am having problems finding one that is reliable and is local to the Temple area.

The job will be installing a total of 24 Cat 6E runs that will terminate in an inside closet with 18 to be attached to a Cat 6e patch panel and 6 to be attached to a Cat 6e POE+ patch panel and mounting both panels into a bracket.

The 24 runs (7 exterior) will be terminated, tested, labeled and cover wall plates installed. Additionally each of the 24 runs will have the cables run through a 1.5 inch conduit (with pull strings provided) running from the wall plate to the attic.

The house is scheduled for closing on November 8th so there is time to get this done and I guess if nothing else I will do it myself but I would prefer to have a professional do it.

If anyone can recommend someone that will do a professional job and be responsive let me know.

Thanks.

You should have the electrician put in the back boxes and conduit during the rough in. For the low voltage stuff try Southwest Telecom (254) 848-4422. I haven't used them lately, but they did a $50K infrastructure upgrade for me a few years ago and did really good work.

Thanks for the referral of Folkerson Communications. I have sent my information on their "contact us" page.

I plan on having the electrician and low voltage guy work together to make sure both are on the same page. I tried looking up Southwest Telecom but it seems like they might no longer be business.

As far as I know they're still around. They do a bunch of work for schools and summer is usually their busiest time.

Update.

I contacted Folkerson but they do only commercial. I left a voice mail with Southwest Telecom but never got a response.

I ended up contracting with Inhouse Systems out of Temple to do the work. I never could get the original company I was working with to respond in a timely manner. Final example is that has been 10 days since my last email to them without a response.

Since Inhouse's estimate was about $350 cheaper than the other quote it made it easy to choose the company that wants my business rather than a company that apparently does not want my money or business.
