True Grit (1969) or True Grit by the Coen Brothers.
Both are great IMO, just curious what others opinions are

There will never be another Kim Darby. xT-1000 It's like if they tried recasting Terminator 2 with the Rock, Justin Beiber and Ronda Rousey or something. Sorry, can't compare.

I liked them both, but I really thought the Jeff Bridges version was better.

1969 I enjoyed Jeff Bridges performance but every other actor was sorely lacking.

I like both of them.
The second one is the better of the two.
John Wayne movies seem to be John Wayne playing John Wayne playing the character.
Jeff Bridges played the character. I did not see Jeff Bridges playing the character. I saw the character.
