Sorry, I know this topic comes up often. With there being so many new reels out and good sales on older reels it is hard to choose. I am not looking for the best reel out there because we all know those are going to be the most expensive. I have been trying to find the best quality I can Staying under $200 msrp. I have all the old lews reels in that price range along with a few abu's. I just purchased the tatula ct that someone else posted the sale about, haven't used it yet but seems to be good quality for under $100! So, what reel would you guys buy right now for the best value but under $200?

I would take the 200 and go buy two Shimano Casitas reels at a 100 bucks a piece they are very good reels. Or if just wanted one I would recommend the Daiwa Tatula SV TWS its right around that 200 mark

For me I just started with a Tatula so I will probably start adding those over time otherwise I will just stick with Lews. I have cheaper Lews and more expensive and they all seem to perform well. You might also look at BPS reels when they are on sale. The salesman told me that they are all made by Lews and rebranded for BPS. I guess that is why they did not sell Lews for so long.

I just bought my 3rd Johnny Morris signature platinum 8:2 and can't be happier. To date all of my other reels are Shimanos: Curados, Metaniums, chronarcs, and calcuttas.
They sell for $200 but I got one on sale last year for $150

I'd go give that CT a shot before making a decision. See if you would rather have two more of those or if you feel like you need the upgrade to a $200 reel.

There are quite a few Lews reels that you can get for under $200, the Daiwa Tatula Ct and the Tatula SV TW would be my first choices. I haven't tried the Shimano Curado K yet because I was really disappointed in the Curado I reels that I used to have.

I have revo stxs, sxs, and Lews speed spools.
Ive won the Lews in tourneys or got them as door prizes.
I bought the stxs when they were on clearance for $80.
I wont spend a dollar over $130 and will only buy Revo SXs. Can find them for $120. Only reel I will purchase going forward.

Supposed to be a new Curado coming to I cast. The K series curado is what I would choose today for a sub $200 reel.
