So I had the day off today, so what did I do? I went fishing. I decided today to try something different. I went out with the goal of catching as many crappie as I can on deep diving crank bait. Here’s the results. I fished from 8 AM until 10:30 AM and ended up with 16 big keepers every one was caught on a deep diving crank bait. The bait of choice is the Bomber Fatfree shad suspending model. Who needs jigs or minnows? LOL. Visit www.wacokidguideservice.com to book your trip, or call 254-315-3999 and lets go fishing

Thanks Dean, that's impressive. I have trolled those lures a lot, and found them to run about 10 ft. Do you have a trick to get them deeper, or are you catching them at 10 feet?...Lawton

Actually that suspending model sinks at a rate of about 6 in./s so I count down to about 7 feet and do a very Slow retrieve. A lot of times the bite will occur as you pull it over the top of the brush pile. That semi square bill will usually keep it from getting hung up. Although I did lose 2 crank baits today. LOL

Awesome post. I've been wanting to try the same thing and the lake I fish. Just haven't found a smallish crankbait that I can get down to 12-15ft. I will have to give those Bombers a try.

good stuff, , sometimes changing things up is alot of fun., ive been doing alot more casting. crappie will hit a moving bait many times when they wont hit a still bait.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
