It’s a great rod for skipping but a little too soft for my liking. It’s more of a moderate tip than a fast tip.

1/2 oz jigs.. you should go to a 705
i use a Fury 704 with 1/4 oz heavy hook jigs. works great.

I use the 704 champion for my jig skipping rod. Works very well for 3/8-1/2 jigs.
